THE COMMODORES - Sweet Love (1976) - by 67aFroSoUL ✿

The Commodores, "Nightshift" Live

The TRAGIC Life & End Of The ‘Commodores’ Members, This Is Sad

Thomas McClary, guitarist, talked about how he met Lionel Richie in an interview. Thomas was standing in the registration line at Tuskegee University when he heard someone behind him whistling a jazz tune by Eddie Harris. So he turned around and asked, “Are you a musician?” The young man was shy and replied, “No, not really.”

A hit from the past. All-time favorite funky/soul band from the group that originally used to call themselves the Mystics,
You'll love this always. [See lyrics below...]
The Commodores is best known for their ballads,
the guys who brought you hits such as "Easy" and "Three Times A Lady",

# the abscence of Lionel Richie's voice is noticeable in this one....

------------------------------- Lyrics {Sing-a-long} ------------------------------------

It isn't always easy
We've been through a few hard times
But when we stick together
There's no mountain we can't climb

With all that we've been through
And everything we've done
Nothing comes between us -- we stand as one

United in love -- there's nothing we can't rise above
United in love -- whatever happens to us
United in love -- we'll always be
United in love -- so united

And if you reach your hand out
But your dreams just seem too far (too far, too far)
Stand upon my shoulders
And you can touch that star

The road that we are on
May lead into the night
But we will walk together into the light

United in love -- there's nothing we can't rise above
United in love -- whatever happens to us
United in love -- we'll always be
United in love -- united

Oooh....! As sure as day follows night
No matter who is wrong or right
No matter what we do or say
Oooh we always come away

United in love -- there's nothing we can't rise above
United in love -- whatever happens to us
United in love -- we'll always be
United in love -- woooh!

And if we stand by each other
Always respect one another
There's nothin' we can't do, no
There's nothin' we, we won't get through
No, no, no, no, ...we're so united

Yet another great classic :)

Commodores - Still

Duas pessoas perdidas numa tempestade

Ainda

Unlike other Commodores albums, Machine Gun has only funk music and is devoid of slow-paced ballads.
