It's another double-header day in the Women's Asia Cup 2024 taking place in Sri Lanka. Bangladesh Women face Thailand Women in a Group B encounter at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium Dambulla on Monday (July 22). Both experienced completely different results on their respective match-day one. While Bangladesh Women lost to Sri Lanka Women by seven wickets Thailand Women defeated Malaysia Women by 22 runs.
Batting first Bangladesh Women could only post 111 for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Two of their top three batters didn't even open their accounts. Skipper Nigar Sultana fought hard with her 48 but there was no real support coming from the other end. Shorna Akter's 25 and Rabeya Khan's 10 were the other two double-digit contributions for the Bangla Women as they crawled past 100. Nahida Akter was the lone warrior with the ball for the Nigar Sultana-led side.
As she resisted the hosts with a three-wicket haul despite a small total to defend. Eventually the visitors bowed to the Lankan Women in the 18th over. Thailand Women on the other hand won the toss and decided to bat first before hammering a respectable 133/6 in 20 overs. Nannapat Koncharoenkai was the top-scorer with 40 runs to her name. Phannita Maya was the next best with 29. A couple of handy contributions. Who will take home the two important points?
Rosenan Kanoh and Suwanan Khiaoto down the order have Thailand Women a good total to defend. Thailand Women were in a spot of bother when Malaysia Women's openers went along nicely at 68 for 0 at one stage. Once Onnicha Kamchomphu knocked over the opposition skipper Winifred Duraisingam in the 12th over things took a massive turn as Thailand restricted Malaysia Women to 111/8 in 20 overs to get two important points.
Kamchomphu picked up two scalps while Laomi Putthawong Chanida Sutthiruang and Nattaya Boochatham bagged one wicket each. Thailand Women affected two runouts on the field which just added the cherry on top of the cake. Bangladesh Women are in a must-win situation as a loss here will all but eliminate them from the tournament. Thailand Women will take confidence from the previous victory and will aim to push the mighty Bangla Women to their limits.

In a shocking discovery, six bodies were discovered in a room at a luxury hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. Investigators said all six were of Vietnamese descent, and two of them were U.S. citizens. 10. Eat the traditional dish Khao Soi
This creamy yellow curry noodle soup comes with a choice of chicken or beef, and you can find it in nearly any restaurant in the Chiang Mai.
9. Tour the Buddhist Temples of the old town
There are over 300 Buddhist temples in Chiang Mai and many of them are located inside the historic old town, including Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chiang Man, Wat Phan Tao, and Wat Chedi Luang.
8. Visit an elephant sanctuary
We visited Elephant Nature Park near Chiang Mai, a sanctuary that is committed to education and rehabilitation of elephants that have been abused by the tourism industry.

7. Join a cooking class
We joined a half-day cooking class, during which we prepared 3 different dishes; a Thai soup, a curry, and Pad Thai. For each dish, there were different options to choose from for your proteins and flavors.

6. Cruise down the Mae Ping River
The Mae Ping River is the main river running through Chiang Mai and offers a quick escape from the city. You can rent a kayak and cruise down yourself or join a 2 hour boat tour that takes you past beautiful scenery around Chiang Mai.

5. Day tour to Doi Inthanon National Park
Home to Thailand’s highest mountain, Doi Inthanon National Park is about a 1.5 hour drive from the city. The park is filled with beautiful waterfalls, hiking trails, viewpoints, and twin pagodas near the summit.

4. Shop at the local Talat Warorot
This historic market opened in the early 20th century and is a great place to buy clothes, souvenirs, local food and spices. Open daily from 6am to 7pm.
3. Visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
The sacred Doi Suthep temple is about 15 km or 9 miles outside of Chiang Mai. The temple also offers beautiful views of the city and the surrounding area.
2. Drive the Samoeng loop
This 100km or 62 miles route is a pretty easy ride with spectacular views winding through the Mae Sa Valley and the Samoeng Forest. We recommend making a few stops along the way: the Mae Sa waterfalls, botanical gardens, and the Samoeng viewpoint.
1. Chiang Mai Sunday Night Market
The largest market in Chiang Mai is the Sunday Night Market. Starting from the Tha Pae Gate, the market runs along the entire length of the Ratchadamnoen Road from 5pm until around 10.30pm. It’s also possible to visit the Saturday Night Market or the Chang Puak Gate Market on any other day of the week.

He lived in Spencer, Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Missouri majoring in agricultural journalism. He was catapulted into country music fame in 1956 with his composition "The Auctioneer", co-written with Buddy Black, which sold over 2.5 million records. He wrote the song about the life of his cousin, National Auctioneers Association Hall of Famer Ray Sims, also a Missourian. Van Dyke had the lead role of a budding country music performer in the 1967 movie What Am I Bid?, in which Sims played himself as an auctioneer.<br /><br />In his 50 years-plus career, Van Dyke has recorded more than 500 songs, dozens of them making the charts. His record of "Walk On By" (1961) was named by Billboard magazine in 1994 as the biggest country single of all time, based on sales, plays and weeks in the charts.[citation needed] It stayed at number one in the U.S. country chart for 19 weeks, and in all, charted for 42 weeks, also reaching No. 5 on the pop listings. It sold more than 1.5 million copies.<br /><br />In the UK Singles Chart Van Dyke had two hits: "Walk On By" reached No. 5 in February 1962, and "Big Man in a Big House" made No. 34 in May that year.<br /><br />Lonnie Melvin "Mel" Tillis is an American country music singer and songwriter. Although he recorded songs since the late 1950s, his biggest success occurred in the 1970s, with a long list of Top 10 hits.<br /><br />Tillis's biggest hits include "I Ain't Never", "Good Woman Blues", and "Coca-Cola Cowboy". On February 13, 2012, President Barack Obama awarded Tillis the National Medal of Arts for his contributions to country music. He also has won the CMA Awards' most coveted award, Entertainer of the Year. He is also known for his speech impediment, which does not affect his singing voice.
