"You know I wrote this for you, baby — you know that." "Oh, yeah, sure.”
Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo do mock-bickering as well as any long-married couple – which, of course, is exactly what they are. More notably, they've formed a commercial and creative juggernaut spanning more than three decades, with the Brooklyn-born Benatar singing and Giraldo working as her guitarist, producer and fellow songwriter.
Benatar's recording career spans a dozen studio albums, seven of which have sold more than a million copies, and has yielded multiple Grammy Awards and some remarkably sturdy staples of the classic-rock canon. Though most widely associated with a string of chart-toppers in the late '70s through the '80s — "Love Is A Battlefield," "Heartbreaker," et al — Benatar and Giraldo still draw huge crowds, for reasons made abundantly clear here. Classically trained as a mezzo-soprano, Benatar still possesses a formidable instrument, and the pair's songs have lost none of their appeal in the intervening decades. And, of course, the duo performs with an agreeable mixture of lighthearted banter, chops and charm.
At the Tiny Desk, Benatar and Giraldo ran through three of their classic songs: 1979's "We Live For Love," 1984's "We Belong" and, after a long and satisfying windup, 1981's "Promises In The Dark.” -- STEPHEN THOMPSON

Never again, isn't that what you said?
You've been through this before
An' you swore this time you'd think with your head
No one, would ever have you again
And if takin' was gonna get done
You'd decide where and when
Just when you think you got it down
Your heart securely tied and bound
They whisper, Promises In The Dark
Armed and ready, you fought love battles in the night
But too many opponents made you weary of the fight
Blinded by passion, you foolishly let someone in
All the warnings went off in your head
Still you had to give in
Just when you think you got it down
Resistance nowhere to be found
They whisper, Promises In The Dark
But promises, you know what they're for
It sounds so convincing, but you heard it before
Cause talk is cheap and you gotta be sure
And so you put up your guard
And you try to be hard
But your heart says try again
You desperately search for a way to conquer the fear
No line of attack has been planned to fight back the tears
Where brave and restless dreams are both won and lost
On the edge is where it seems it's well worth the cost
Just when you think you got it down
Your heart in pieces on the ground
They whisper, Promises In The -- Dark

An Israeli reality TV star broke down in tears as she described receiving a harrowing message about a terrorist who killed a young man and his girlfriend — and sent video of the barbaric act to the mom from her son’s phone.
Mor Radmi, star of the show “Wedding at First Sight,” said the horrific incident happened after 260 people were slaughtered at a music festival in the Negev Desert when Hamas launched its attack on Israel early Saturday, Israel Hayom reported.
The woman had been collecting donations and assisting people to find their missing relatives, many of whom were killed and others abducted by the bloodthirsty terrorists

The war on Israel has passed 48 hours and the shock of the Hamas terrorist attacks have shaken lives across the globe and caused the "darkest day for Jewish people in decades", according to Sky News Australia host Sharri Markson.
Ms Markson has condemned the “sickening” acts committed by the “degenerate evil” of Hamas.
“It's being called Israel's September 11 … it is pure savagery,” she said.
“But it's the heinous barbarity that makes this attack by Hamas so sickening and so unexpected for the state of Israel that prides itself on national security.
“There was no mercy shown as the elderly, the women, the children – the babies – were kidnapped, seized and carted off by jeering men – away from the safety of their homes, their loved ones and their life as they knew it.
“How can humans be this cruel? To laugh and celebrate as they torture terrified, young souls who had so much ahead of them in life, who were so hopeful for the future.”

Hamas gunmen have killed around 250 people who attended an outdoor music festival in Israel's Negev Desert, according to a spokesperson for Israeli humanitarian NGO Zaka. Thousands of music-lovers had danced through the night at the Supernova festival in a remote area of southern Israel near the border with the Gaza Strip when Hamas forces stormed across the border, shooting people in the communities and towns near Gaza.
