In this video, I explore Manila in 2026 to see what life in the Philippines is really like today...beyond the stereotypes. From the massive SM Mall of Asia, to the controversial Dolomite Beach, to the history-packed streets of Intramuros (Old Town), this is Manila’s past and present colliding.
I also spend time in the ultra-modern districts of Makati and BGC, showing the side of the Philippines that feels futuristic, fast-paced, and very livable especially if you’ve only seen the “chaotic” side online. This isn’t a highlight reel or a hit piece. Just real observations, walking the city, and sharing what I see on the ground.

📍 Places featured:
• SM Mall of Asia
• Dolomite Beach
• Intramuros (Old Town Manila)
• Makati
• Bonifacio Global City (BGC)

Is Manila underrated… or misunderstood?
Watch and decide for yourself.

Hello!
In today’s slow living vlog, we spend a quiet day close to the land, drying yam, preparing soybeans, cutting bamboo for a trellis, and cooking simple, nourishing meals together.

From fresh avocado and soursop in season to coffee sweetened with dates instead of sugar, we’re learning to choose more natural, wholesome alternatives and to appreciate the beauty of everyday life.

Growing even a little of our own food has changed how we see meals, time, and gratitude. It teaches patience, mindfulness, and respect for the earth that feeds us.

We hope this video inspires you to slow down, reconnect with nature, and find joy in the simple things.

Thank you for watching. Until next time.

With gratitude,
Mii

PHILIPPINES TRAVEL GUIDE: We made a list of the top 10 best islands to visit in the Philippines. If you plan to visit the Philippines then this travel guide will be useful for your planning. I went around to many islands in the Philippines over the span of my three trips to the country. I have put together a list of the top places in the Philippines for you to visit and even research. Philippines tourism appears to be back to normal and these tourist spots are thriving again. I really enjoyed Palawan and many would say that is the best place in the Philippines, with El Nido and Coron being the top places there. I also felt Siargao was a special place to visit for its diversity in activities to do. Boracay seemed to be the most popular tourist destination in Philippines. This Philippines travel video took about 1.5 months to put together. Hope you all enjoy this Philippines vlog.

Violence erupts during anti-corruption rallies in the Philippines

Mass protests in Manila on Sunday, September 21, escalated into violent clashes between demonstrators and police. What began as peaceful rallies against corruption quickly turned chaotic when protesters were barred from marching toward the presidential palace.

Ever live somewhere so long you start picking up the little things without even realizing it? 😅 Well... Here’s what I LEARNED living in the Philippines — and this one is all about that classic Filipino gesture we ALL know: the respectful duck-through when people are in the middle of a convo. 🙇🏽‍♂️
In this short, we take it waaaaay back to Week 1, when I just bulldozed through groups like a clueless foreigner 😂. Fast forward to Month 1, I’m half-committed, giving that slight lean like I kinda know the rules. But by Month 3? Man, I'm in full ninja-duck mode, practically breakdancing through the crowd just to show respect! 🤣 This is that type of content every Filipino — and every expat — will instantly relate to. "Here’s what I LEARNED living in the Philippines" isn't just about humor, it's about how these little cultural details become a part of you. The more time you spend here, the more you pick up without even trying — from small gestures to everyday habits. That ducking move is basically a rite of passage! 😂

[Verse 1]
My baby want a Birkin
, she's been tellin' me all night long
Gasoline and groceries, the list goes on and on
This 9 to 5 ain't workin', why the hell do I work so hard?
I can't worry 'bout my problems, I can't take 'em when I'm gone (Uh)

[Pre-Chorus]
One, here comes the two, to the three, to the four
Tell 'em "Bring another round", we need plenty more
Two steppin' on the table, she don't need a dance floor
Oh my, good Lord

[Chorus]
Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey
They know me and Jack Daniel's got a history
Therе's a party downtown, near 5th Street
Everybody at the bar gеttin' tipsy
Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy
Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy

[Verse 2]
I've been Boozey since I left, I ain't changin' for a check
Tell my ma', I ain't forget (Oh, Lord, uh)

Woke up drunk at 10 a.m., we gon' do this shit again
Tell your girl to bring a friend (Oh, Lord)

[Pre-Chorus]
One, here comes the two, to the three, to the four
Tell 'em "Bring another round", we need plenty more
Two steppin' on the table, she don't need a dance floor
Oh my, good Lord

[Chorus]
Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey (A double shot of whiskey)
They know me and Jack Daniel's got a history (We go way back)

There's a party downtown, near 5th Street
Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy (Woo)
Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy (At the bar gettin' tipsy)
Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy

[Bridge]
One, here comes the two, to the three, to the four
When it's last call and they kick us out the door
It's gettin' kind of late but the ladies want some more
Oh my, good Lord (Tell 'em drinks on me)

[Chorus]
Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey (A double shot of whiskey)
They know me and Jack Daniel's got a history (Way back)
There's a party downtown, near 5th Street (Come on)
Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy (Woo-ooh)
Can someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey (A double shot of whiskey)
They know me and Jack Daniel's got a history (It's Jack D)
At the bottom of a bottle gon' miss me (Baby, don't miss me)
Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy (At the bar gettin' tipsy)
Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy
Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy

[Outro]
That's fuckin' messed up, bro, they kicked me out the bar

Lyrics:

When I get where I'm going
On the far side of the sky
The first thing that I'm gonna do
Is spread my wings and fly

I'm gonna land beside a lion
And run my fingers through his mane
Or I might find out what it's like
To ride a drop of rain

Yeah when I get where I'm going
There'll be only happy tears
I will shed the sins and struggles
I have carried all these years
And I'll leave my heart wide open
I will love and have no fear
Yeah when I get where I'm going
Don't cry for me down here

Lyrics:
Verse 1
IT WAS RIGHT AFTER SENIOR YEAR
JUST BEFORE THE SUMMER DISAPPEARED
WE WENT RIDING THEM OLD FARM RUTS
HANGING OUT ON THE GATE OF HIS TRUCK
WE THREW A BLANKET NEATH THE SUNSET
BEING BRAVE AS EIGHTEEN GETS
WE GAVE EACH OTHER MORE THAN OUR HEARTS
WITH THE HELP OF A MASON JAR

CHORUS
DRINKING WATERMELON MOONSHINE
WE CUT THE BURN WITH A LITTLE LIME
PARKING BACK IN THEM KUDZU VINES
I WAS HIS AND EVERY BIT OF THAT BOY WAS MINE
TOO YOUNG TO KNOW WHAT LOVE WAS
BUT WE WERE LEARNING ON A SWEET BUZZ
THERE’S NEVER NOTHING LIKE THE FIRST TIME
AND MINE’S ALWAYS GONNA TASTE LIKE
WATERMELON MOONSHINE

Verse 2
I DON’T REMEMBER WHERE WE GOT IT FROM
I JUST REMEMBER FEELING ALL GROWN UP
TAKING PULLS LIKE IT AINT NO THING
NEVER TOLD HIM IT WAS MY FIRST DRINK
BUT I TOLD HIM THAT HE WAS THE ONE
YOU'RE SO SURE WHEN YOU'RE THAT YOUNG
YOU THINK YOU GOT IT ALL FIGURED OUT
AND NOW I LAUGH WHEN I THINK ABOUT

CHORUS
DRINKING WATERMELON MOONSHINE
WE CUT THE BURN WITH A LITTLE LIME
PARKING BACK IN THEM KUDZU VINES
I WAS HIS AND EVERY BIT OF THAT BOY WAS MINE
TOO YOUNG TO KNOW WHAT LOVE WAS
BUT WE WERE LEARNING ON A SWEET BUZZ
THERE’S NEVER NOTHING LIKE THE FIRST TIME
AND MINE’S ALWAYS GONNA TASTE LIKE
WATERMELON MOONSHINE

BRIDGE
I THOUGHT THAT HIGH WOULD LAST FOREVER
BUT THAT AIN’T WHAT IT DOES
MAYBE WE WERE DRUNK IN LOVE
OR MAYBE WE WERE JUST

CHORUS
DRINKING WATERMELON MOONSHINE
WE CUT THE BURN WITH A LITTLE LIME
PARKING BACK IN THEM KUDZU VINES
I WAS HIS AND EVERY BIT OF THAT BOY WAS MINE
TOO YOUNG TO KNOW WHAT LOVE WAS
BUT WE WERE LEARNING ON A SWEET BUZZ
THERE’S NEVER NOTHING LIKE THE FIRST TIME
