Some of the most common questions people ask me relate to the possibilities of RV camping during Winter or the off season. What they really want to know is if it’s possible or even a good idea to go camping during the cooler months. There are lots of reasons to pull out the old RV camper and start checking out RV parks and camping sites during the traditional off season. Campers have easier times getting into the best campgrounds when demand is lower, prices may be lower and there are fewer campers around making noise and disturbing the peace that most campers are seeking anyway. Before you take off, be sure to call around in the areas you want to visit. The best campgrounds in the area are likely to be open all year, but there is no guarantee. When you have an RV, it’s not like you’re roughing it anyway. Put it to good use. Hiking and biking in cooler weather, or roasting marshmallows over an open fire in cooler temperatures sure beats the heck out of trying to do it during the Summer when it’s 100 degrees outside.
