I completely restarted my streaming journey from scratch at the start of 2023, I went from always having 150 average viewers, to zero viewers… but then for my first stream on a new account, new platform, and entirely new audience… I had 80 average viewers, I did this by following a simple, clear, actionable series of steps, literally, anyone can do.

If you’re starting from 0, and you have no experience, it’s kind’ve like going on a cross-country road trip, you don’t just get in the car and drive, you need to plan out where you’re going, what you’re excited to see, what music you’re listening too, and most importantly… what snacks you want to bring.

If you didn’t do any of this, you’d end up bored, aimless, and starve to death… coincidentally that is the 3 main things that happen to new streamers.

To avoid this, I created a plan, specifically a Content Map.

by that I mean, you need to understand who your audience is, what they love, and then you need to stream with the idea of making content for Tik tok, Yt shorts, instagram, full youtube videos, and any of the thousands of other platforms.

How To Grow On Twitch?

If you want to grow your Twitch stream, it is important to be critical. Being critical isn’t a bad thing, people say, “Oh don’t be so critical of yourself!”.

But there are a lot of things you can control and improve, such as your visuals, audio, and most importantly your content that you’re creating. Watch back your VoD and be honest with yourself, is it up to scratch. Does your mic sound good? Are you engaging? Is it easy to watch and enjoy or is there something that is off-putting? Be honest, push yourself to grow, and become a better entertainer!

Because at the end of the day, the only way you are going to grow your stream is by growing yourself and being critical in a positive way.

What Bitrate And Settings Should I Use For Streaming?

The easiest way to understand bitrate is by calling what it actually is, your upload speed to the Twitch servers.

Now you’ll need a higher bitrate depending on how high quality you want your stream to be, this means 1080p 60 frames per second will need a bitrate of 6000, which roughly equals 6megabits upload speed on your end being taken up

By lowering your resolution and framerate, you can make it a lot easier to stream, for example, if you set your base canvas size to 1920x1080, but change your output to 1280x720 otherwise known as 720p you drop down to only needing a bitrate of 4500 or 4.5megabits.

If you still want 1080, you can even just lower your framerate from 60fps to 30fps and then adjust to 4500bitrate.

Widow Callum (Dame Judith Anderson) does her best to make Jeb feel loved as he is growing up, but the young man stubbornly maintains a sense of his own identity. While he has great affection for his foster-sister Thor (Teresa Wright), his relationship with her brother Adam (John Rodney) is tenuous at best, especially when Jeb blames him for shooting a colt that he was riding. Although Mrs. Callum blames the incident on deer hunters, she is aware that the it was actually the attempted murder of the youngster by her brother-in-law Grant (Dean Jagger), a shadowy figure who, for vague reasons, is determined to harm Jeb. "Do the sins of the parents fall upon the children? That's just one of the questions this brilliant film noir with a western setting asks as the brooding Robert Mitchum recounts his story to his foster sister while waiting for his enemies to attack.

Only a western because of its early 1900's New Mexico setting, "Pursued" is a brilliant example of how writers could cross film genres to make a powerful statement. Like 1950's "The Furies" (which ironically featured the always brilliant Judith Anderson), "Pursued" is an almost Greek tragedy like drama in its view of a family in turmoil. Mitchum doesn't need to speak much to express his lost soul; It is written in his eyes. Wright becomes almost like "Hamlet's" Ophelia as her hatred descends into a seeming madness in her quest for revenge. Anderson, then starring as the vengeful "Medea" on Broadway, utilized every trick in her brilliant acting brain to make this character both lovable and even somewhat sinister. This is no Mrs. Danvers ("Rebecca") or Big Mama ("Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"), and everything she does will keep you riveted, as she always did on screen, even in the most turgid of movies. It makes me wonder how she would have been as the mother in "Mourning Becomes Electra".

While there is one outdoor shot that is obviously a backdrop, everything else technically about this movie is superior. It is a film that seems better with age, and is a must see for fans of the film noir genre as well as those who think that westerns are nothing but cowboys and Indians."
