The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.

The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.

This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.

Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

Video distributed by Israeli police shows a Palestinian stabbing two Israelis in Jerusalem on Friday, May 31, wounding one of them critically, before being shot dead by police.

The attack occurred on the last Friday of the Ramadan holiday, when thousands of Muslim worshippers were expected to come to a holy site in Jerusalem's old city and police had deployed extra units to the area.

One Israeli was critically injured in the stabbing attack and a second sustained moderate wounds, police said in a statement. (Reuters)

The war on Israel has passed 48 hours and the shock of the Hamas terrorist attacks have shaken lives across the globe and caused the "darkest day for Jewish people in decades", according to Sky News Australia host Sharri Markson.

Ms Markson has condemned the “sickening” acts committed by the “degenerate evil” of Hamas.

“It's being called Israel's September 11 … it is pure savagery,” she said.

“But it's the heinous barbarity that makes this attack by Hamas so sickening and so unexpected for the state of Israel that prides itself on national security.

“There was no mercy shown as the elderly, the women, the children – the babies – were kidnapped, seized and carted off by jeering men – away from the safety of their homes, their loved ones and their life as they knew it.

“How can humans be this cruel? To laugh and celebrate as they torture terrified, young souls who had so much ahead of them in life, who were so hopeful for the future.”

Hamas fighters involved in the surprise operation recorded the attack with cameras. And within minutes of firing the first rockets, videos of the offensive started circulating. Some are official media clips from Hamas media arm showing the extent of the infiltration into Israeli territory.

WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT Heartbreaking video shows tattoo artist Shani Louk joyfully dancing at an Israeli music festival before she was stripped naked and apparently murdered by Hamas terrorists – as it emerged that the 23-year-old once lived in Portland.

“These are probably the last moments of her before Hamas attacked music festival,” one user tweeted alongside the clip, which has been viewed more than 350,000 times as of Tuesday morning.

The Israeli-German woman is seen dancing joyously at the Tribe of Nova event in the Negev Desert as she is surrounded by fellow revelers a short time before the massacre, which has left at least 260 people dead.
