The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.

This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.

Nach einem Angriff der militant-islamistischen Hamas auf ein Musikfestival in Israel haben Sanitäter des israelischen Rettungsdienstes Saka etwa 260 Leichen von dort geborgen. Das teilte Saka am Sonntag mit. Die Gesamtzahl der Opfer dürfte höher liegen, da auch andere Rettungsdienste im Einsatz waren.

Das Festivalgelände war eines von zahlreichen Zielen des Großangriffs der Hamas auf den Süden Israels, der am Samstag begonnen hat. Das Festival wurde von Tausenden Menschen besucht. In sozialen Medien und von Nachrichtenmedien veröffentlichte Videos zeigten Dutzende Festivalbesucher, die über eine freie Fläche rannten, während Schüsse zu hören waren. Viele versteckten sich in nahe gelegenen Obstplantagen oder wurden auf der Flucht niedergestreckt.

Die Hamas hatte Israel am Samstag mit einer beispiellosen Kombination von Großangriffen überrumpelt. Sie feuerte Tausende Raketen auf Israel ab, zugleich überwanden deren Kämpfer die stark gesicherte Grenze, drangen bis zu 24 Kilometer tief nach Israel ein, erschossen zahlreiche Menschen und entführten andere in den Gazastreifen. Israelischen Medienberichten zufolge wurden bei den Angriffen mindestens 700 Menschen in Israel getötet. Bei israelischen Gegenangriffen kamen im Gazastreifen mehr als 400 Menschen ums Leben.

A video released by Hamas armed wing showing militants firing drones from the Gaza Strip into Israel on Sunday (October 8)

Another video released on Saturday (October 7) showed Hamas militants withdrawing from one of the settlements after allegedly carrying out an operation there.

Hamas began an attack at dawn on Saturday with a huge barrage of rockets into southern Israel, giving cover to an unprecedented, multi-pronged infiltration of fighters into Israel from Gaza, a narrow strip that is home to 2.3 million Palestinians.

Gunmen killed at least 250 Israelis in clashes throughout Saturday and into Sunday, and escaped back into Gaza with dozens of hostages. More than 300 Gazans were killed when Israel responded with one of its most devastating days of retaliatory strikes.

Hamas claimed to have entered Israel on Saturday morning using motorised vehicles attached to parachutes, in an apparent attempt to avoid air defences.

Footage released by the group purportedly shows militants crossing the border into Israel using parachutes with motorised fans to power them through the air.

Some fighters had motors strapped directly to their backs, while others rode on small, three wheeled vehicles dangling from parafoil kites.

A video posted on social media shows militants wearing the crest of the Air Force division of the al-Qassam Brigades -- the military wing of Hamas -- and the Palestinian flag.

The video shows four parachutes in the air, with one attached to a three-wheeled vehicle.

After landing, the fighters are then shown raiding buildings painted with the Star of David, a symbol of both Israel and judaism.

The vehicles are officially known as “powered parachutes”, while using an engine to glide without a vehicle is called “powered paragliding”.

The gliders can be purchased for as little as £12,250 and are built from simple components including a small engine and seat bolted to a metal frame.

They fly at up to 35 miles per hour and can take off from a short stretch of ground.

Hamas’s use of powered parachutists appears to have allowed the group to evade Israeli air defences.

The Telegraph has not been able to independently verify the video or that the vehicles were used in the attacks on Saturday morning.

Although the craft are mainly used by hobbyists, they have been used previously for military operations.

MilSpecPPG, an Australian defence company, has manufactured a version of the vehicles designed for military use.

The company says powered parachutes are “ideal for covert operations” and are “virtually invisible at 800ft when painted in ‘duck egg blue’ with the same coloured wing”.

There is no suggestion the aircraft used by Hamas on Saturday were supplied by MilSpecPPG.
