De nombreuses familles sont sans nouvelles de leurs proches, qui pourraient avoir été tués ou pris en otage.

C’est ce que craint la famille d’Avidan T., une Franco-Israélien de 26 qui ne donne plus de nouvelles depuis qu’il a envoyé un message à sa famille samedi matin. Le jeune homme, originaire de Bordeaux, « a sans doute été enlevé dans le Sud d’Israël par le Hamas alors qu’il participait au festival de musique », a écrit ce dimanche sur X le député Meyer Habib, élu de la circonscription des Français de l’étranger comprenant Israël.

The ‘smell of death’ dominates the air in Kfar Aza after Hamas breached the nearby Gaza border and committed a savage massacre in the village.

The Independent’s Bel Trew is on the ground in Israel after Hamas militants launched a brutal attack early Saturday 7 October.

“They came with one mission, to kill more and more Jews”, said Major David Ben Zion as he stands among the wreckage.

The IDF described how they entered homes and found residents’ bodies “decapitated” the rural farming community of around 800 people left decimated by the attack.

At least 900 Israelis and almost 800 people in the Gaza Strip have lost their lives in the attack.

This is the moment Palestinian terrorists led by Hamas attacked an Israeli music festival. Video from the ground shows the moment party-goers realised they were being attacked. Dark marks in the sky show where missiles were fired across the border from Gaza. Followed by paragliding gunmen who unleashed a massacre moments later. At least 260 people were killed at Nova Festival in what witnessed called an ‘ambush.’ People were cut down as they tried to flee in cars, and then on foot across open fields. Medics called to the scene said death squads attacked the exits and picked people off. Dash cam footage captured gunmen walking through the site and taking a hostage. Meanwhile drone footage revealed the extent of devastation from the air. It shows how cars snarled up the exit roads, leaving thousands of people with no way out. At least one Briton was killed in the carnage, along with a German tattoo artist. Her body was later paraded through the streets, and spat at by passers-by.
