7. See Koh Samui’s most mysterious rocks
At Lamai Beach, you can find two distinctive rock formations. Discovered by locals many years ago, these rocks were described as "Grandpa" (Hin Ta) and "Grandma" (Hin Yai).

Die Kulisse von der Region rund um Krabi könnte nicht spektakulärer sein: mit türkisem Wasser, schroffen grünbewachsenen Kalksteinfelsen und hellen Sandstränden. Dort treffen Nina und Jonas einen Biologen, der geschädigte Korallenriffe restauriert. In sechs Metern Tiefe lernen sie seine Arbeit kennen und dürfen mit anpacken. Die Strände rund um Krabi gehören zu den schönsten in ganz Thailand. Der berühmte Railay-Strand sieht aus wie die Kulisse eines Reisemagazins. Mit dem Boot geht es auf die Insel Koh Hong - auch hier gibt es Tropenstrand vom Feinsten. In Bangkok erleben Nina und Jonas das buddhistischen Fest Loi Krathong.
Dieses Fest wird zu Ehren der Wassergöttin gefeiert. Eine Art Erntedank-Fest, zu dem an Flüssen und Seen unzählige schwimmende Laternen zu Wasser gelassen werden. Nina lernt das kleine schwimmende Boot aus Bananenblättern und Blumen selbst zu bauen. Authentisch thailändisch isst man in Bangkok in einer der unzähligen Garküchen. Thailands Streetfood ist weltbekannt. Nina und Jonas bekommen einen Pad Thai-Kochkurs - direkt auf der Straße. Das traditionelle thailändische Nudelgericht darf auf keiner Thailand-Reise fehlen.
In Thailand ist der Nationalsport Thai-Boxen nach wie vor eine Männerdomäne, aber immer mehr Mädchen und Frauen zieht es in den Ring. Nina und Jonas treffen Nong Toom - ein ehemals männlicher Boxer, der sich durch die Preisgelder geschlechtsangleichende Operationen finanzierte und vom Kämpfer zur Kämpferin wurde. Die Boxerin unterrichtet mittlerweile im eigenen Studio und zeigt Nina, wie sie ordentlich austeilen kann. Ein Besuch der eindrucksvollen Tempelruinen von Ayutthaya und der Erawan-Nationalpark mit seinen türkisfarbenen Wasserfällen rundet ihre Reise ab.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a 15-year-old girl was stabbed to death outside a bus on her way to school.
She was repeatedly stabbed near the Whitgift shopping centre in Croydon, south London, after the attacker produced a knife from his pocket in a dispute over a bag, Sky News understands.
Police responded within two minutes and the boy, who is believed to have been known to the girl, has been arrested over the incident in Wellesley Road.

A “much-loved” 15-year-old girl died after being stabbed in the neck with a foot-long knife during the morning rush hour, a witness has said.
Security worker Victor Asare told the PA news agency that blood ran “like water” and members of the public rushed to help after the girl was attacked in Croydon, south London, on Wednesday.
A 17-year-old boy who knew the victim has been arrested.
Mr Asare said: “The blood was coming like water.
“A lot of people came, everyone came off the bus. (The suspect) ran away. Everybody was crying and screaming. The girl was on the floor.
“We tried to catch him and a lot of people tried to save the girl. I was so shocked, I was shaken. It’s somebody’s daughter.
“I finished work but couldn’t sleep, so came back, I wanted to see if the girl was OK.”
He said that the girl, who was wearing a green school blazer, looked as if she “didn’t want the boy to come closer” before he stabbed her with a knife that was “black, thin and about a foot long”.
Emergency services were called to Wellesley Road in Croydon at around 8.30am to reports that the girl had been stabbed.

Police at the University of Kentucky arrested Sophia Rosing, 22, on charges including public intoxication and third-degree assault on a police officer. Rising used racial slurs as she assaulted a student working at the front desk of a dorm. Rosing, who was a senior set to graduate in May, will withdraw from the school and seek help for the issues she has, said her attorney Fred Peters.
