Dozens of bodies have been found at the site of an outdoor music festival n an Israeli community near Gaza, according to Israeli media, after it was attacked by Hamas fighters as part of their unprecedented incursion into Israel on Saturday. Images on social media showed young people attempting to flee the festival by foot or in cars as the militants attacked, amid reports some had been taken hostage.

Hamas has released footage of its multi-pronged assault on Israel, which combined watchtower bombings, rockets and power gliders to catch Israel's military completely off guard.

The footage shows Hamas bombing a number of watchtower and Israeli defence sites along the border, followed up with hundreds of rockets to sow chaos.

Hamas gunmen in motorised paragliders then flew into southern Israel amid the confusion, with some reaching a nearby rave party where they massacred at least 250 people.

At the same time, other Hamas squads were working to smash through weak points in the Israel-Gaza border fence before pouring through to the other side to commit further massacres.

The footage shows bulldozers ploughing through the fence, followed by fighters on foot armed with what appear to be RPGs and also gunmen on mopeds.

Hundreds of Hamas gunmen are believed to have come through those breaches in the fence, which remain open and were still being used to launch assaults on Monday morning.

Israel battered Gaza on Sunday (October 8) after suffering its bloodiest attack in decades, when Hamas fighters rampaged through Israeli towns killing 600 and abducting dozens more, as the spiraling violence threatened a major new Middle East war.

An eyewitness footage released on Sunday shot from inside a vehicle showed Israeli forces opening fire on Route 4 in Ashkelon, a coastal Israeli city that is a frequent target for rocket attacks by militants across the border in Gaza.

The location of the footage was verified by comparing the road layout, field, trees, lampposts, and building to street-view and satellite imagery of the area.

An Israeli mother whose 12- and 16-year-old sons were abducted by Hamas terrorists was visibly irritated when MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked about Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, exclaiming: “I can’t be sympathetic.”

Mitchell, whose left-leaning network has drawn criticism for refusing to refer to Hamas attackers as terrorists, pressed the unidentified mom on her feelings about Israel’s attacks on Gaza.

“I can’t be sympathetic to animal human beings — well, they’re not really human beings — who came into my house, broke everything, stole everything, took my children from their bedrooms and took them to the Gaza Strip,” she said.

US President Joe Biden delivers remarks on the Israel-Hamas war, as the number of people killed in Hamas's attack on Israel rises above 1,000.

According to a senior defense official, US defence Lloyd Secretary Austin offered the hostage rescue support to his Israeli counterpart, Minister Yoav Gallant, during a weekend phone call.

Since Hamas launched an attack on Israel last Saturday, followed by retaliatory attacks on Gaza, distressing photos and videos have been circulating worldwide. Social media platforms like X (formerly known as Twitter) have been flooded with posts related to the situation, with the hashtag "Israel-Palestine War" trending. While some of the content may be informative, it can also be harmful.

Jewish day schools in the GTA have issued warnings to families to avoid graphic content. These warnings were issued after the schools received information from the Israel Ministry of Education.

ISRAËL - Les faits se sont déroulés au premier jour de la vaste attaque du Hamas sur le territoire israélien, samedi dernier, mais ils commencent seulement à être connus ce mardi 10 octobre.

Parmi les plus de 900 morts côté israélien au quatrième jour des frappes, combats et exactions, de nombreux cadavres ont été localisés au sein du kibboutz de Beeri, qui a vécu un massacre.

Des habitants de Beeri interrogés par l’AFP ont ainsi estimé que sur les 1 200 habitants du kibboutz situé à quatre kilomètres à vol d’oiseau de la frontière avec Gaza, des dizaines ont été tués ou pris en otage. Le journal The Times of Israël fait part d’une centaine de morts.

Israël a multiplié, dimanche 8 octobre 2023, des frappes aériennes sur la bande de Gaza au lendemain de l’attaque du Hamas contre son territoire.

Dimanche matin, l’Etat hébreu a également été visé, au nord, par des tirs de roquettes et d’obus du Hezbollah. Le groupe militaire libanais a déclaré avoir agi en solidarité avec « la résistance palestinienne ». Les forces israéliennes ont riposté par des frappes aériennes sur le sud du Liban, là où est parti un des tirs.

Israël a reconnu une prise d’otages « significative », comprenant civils et militaires israéliens, par des membres du Hamas. Leur nombre reste indéterminé mais l’ambassade de France en Israël parle d’au moins 150 Israéliens enlevés. Parmi eux, plusieurs jeunes adultes qui participaient au Tribe of Nova festival, dans le désert près de la bande de Gaza, au moment de l’assaut du Hamas.
