Solo Camping & Fishing on a Wild Coast | Catch & Cook

It was a beautiful, completely windless day on this wild coast — a rare opportunity, as strong winds and waves over 6 meters often make camping and fishing here impossible.

After a steep and tricky descent, I set up camp above the ocean and headed down to the rocks to fish. The mackerel and cod weren’t around at first, but I managed to catch two nice pollack and kept one for dinner. Just as I was about to pack up, a school of mackerel appeared and I caught a few more fish before heading back to camp.

For dinner, I made crispy panko-fried pollack and enjoyed an incredible sunset over the ocean.
