Israeli border police recused injured IDF soldiers from Islamist militants. The dramatic rescue took place in Kibbutz Nir Am, 500 yards from Gaza. Officers ran out of their armoured vehicle under fire from Hamas gunmen. And approached a tank with wounded Israeli soldiers inside. As bullets pinged off the tank, they helped their comrades to safety. They killed several terrorists and got the soldiers to hospital. Kibbutz Nir Am was attacked by Hamas and other terrorists on Saturday, As part of a huge assault on Israel that left at least 900 dead, mostly civilians. Gunmen took control of at least 22 villages and towns. But not Kibbutz Nir Am, after IDF soldiers managed to drive them away.
