Mr. Edmund Yakani

Mr. Edmund Yakani, Executive Director of CEPO, warned the field commendors of SPLA-IO and SSPDF over their continuous military confrontations in some parts of the country which is imposing in civil population hunger or food insecurity. Civilians in the areas of SPLA-IO and SSPDF active military confrontations are forced not to farm and to be displaced.

Mr. Yakani stressed now that the hot-spot for possible new military confrontations are in Unity, Upper Nile, Central Equatoria, and Western Equatoria, among others. CIVIL SOCIETY is watching and ready to document all acts that human rights violations and use of hunger as a weapon of war by the armed groups in the country.
