The WNBA Can’t Keep Running - It’s Time to Confront the Political Agenda!

Stephen A. Smith says it’s time for the WNBA to show courage and confront what he believes is becoming a much bigger issue than basketball.

Following the controversy surrounding Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White, Sophie Cunningham and DiJonai Carrington, Stephen A. argues that outside political forces are increasingly using the WNBA to fuel a broader cultural and ideological divide. He explains why he believes the league can no longer simply ask everyone to “get back to basketball” while avoiding the larger conversation surrounding it.

Stephen A. also dives into Caitlin Clark’s impact on the WNBA, the criticism Stephanie White has faced, the league’s handling of controversial issues and why he believes the WNBA needs to confront its critics directly rather than allow others to control the narrative.
