Myoho Renge Kyo โ€” The wonderful Law of the Lotus Sutra
Ho ben pon dai ni: Skillful Ways
Ni Ji Se Son โ€” There the World Honored One
Ju San Mai โ€” Quietly came up
An Jo Ni Ki โ€” From his samadhi
Go Shari Hotsu โ€” And said to Shariputra:
Sho Bu' Chi E โ€” The wisdom of the Buddhas
Jin Jin Mu Ryo โ€” Is profound and cannot be measured
Go Chi E Mon โ€” Its gate is hard to understand
Nange Nan Nyu โ€” And difficult to enter.
Is Sai Sho Mon โ€” No Shravaka-Disciple
Hyaku Shi Butsu โ€” Or Self-taught buddha
Sho Fu No Chi โ€” Can understand it.
Sho I Sha Ga โ€” Why is that? (because!)
Butsu Zo Shin Gon โ€”the [present] Buddhas attended on many
Hyaku Sen Man Noku โ€” hundreds of thousands of billions
Mu Shu Sho Butsu โ€” Of [past] Buddhas,
Jin Gyo Sho Butsu โ€” And practiced the many teachings
Mu Ryo Do Ho โ€” Of those Buddhas bravely and energetically
Yu Myo Sho Jin โ€” To their far-flung fame till they attained
Myo Sho Fu Mon โ€” The profound Law
Jo Ju Jin Jin โ€” Which you've never heard before,
Mi Zo U Ho โ€” And also because they are exposing
Zui Gi Sho Setsu โ€” The Law according to the capacities
I Shu Nan Ge โ€” Of all living beings a way that the intention is hard to understand
Shari Hotsu โ€” Shariputra!
Go Ju Jo Butsu I Rai โ€” Since I became Buddha, I also
Shu Ju In Nen โ€” Have been stating various teachings
Shu Ju Hi Yu โ€” With different stories of previous lives,
Ko En Gon Kuyo โ€” Various parables, and various similes.
Mu Shu Ho Ben โ€” I have been leading all living beings
In Do Shu Jo โ€” With countless expedients
Ryo Ri Sho Jaku โ€” In order to save them from materialism,
Sho I Sha Ga โ€” Because I have the power
Nyo Rai Ho Ben โ€” To employ skills,
Chi Ken Hara Mitsu โ€” And the power to perform
Kai I Gu Soku โ€” The Paramita (reached goal of wisdom) of insight
Shari Hotsu โ€” Shariputra!
Nyo Rai Chi Ken โ€”The insight of the Tathagatas
Ko Dai Jin Non โ€” Is wide and deep.
Mu Ryo Mu Ge โ€” They have all the [states of mind
Riki Mu Sho I โ€” Towards] countless [living beings],
Zen Jo Ge Da's' San Mai โ€” unchecked [intelligence], powers,
Jin Nyu Mu Sai โ€” Fearlessness, dhyana-concentrations,
Jo Ju Is Sai โ€” Liberations and samadhis. They entered
Mi Zo U Ho โ€” Deep into no limits, and attained the Law which you've never heard before
Shari Hotsu โ€” Shariputra!
Nyo Rai Nyo Shu Ju Fun Betsu โ€”The Tathagatas divide the Law
Gyo Ses Sho Ho โ€” Into various teachings, and state
Gon Ji Nyu Nan โ€” Those teachings so gently and skillfully
Ek Ka Shu Shin โ€” That living being are delighted.
Shari Hotsu โ€” Shariputra!
Shu Yo Gon Shi โ€” In short, the Buddhas attained
Mu Ryo Mu Hen โ€” The countless teachings
Mi Zo U Ho โ€” Which you've never heard before
Bus Shitsu Jo Ju โ€” No more
Shi โ€” Will I say
Shari Hotsu โ€” Shariputra
Fu Shu Bu Setsu โ€” Because the Law
Sho I Sha Ga โ€” attained by the Buddhas
Bus Sho Jo Ju โ€” Is the highest Truth.
Dai Ichi Ke U โ€” Rare [to hear] and hard
Nan Ge Shi Ho โ€”To understand.
Yui Butsu Yo Butsu โ€” Only the Buddhas attained
Nai No Ku Jin โ€” The highest Truth, that is
Sho Ho Jis So โ€” The Reality of All Things
Sho I Sho Ho โ€” In regards to:
Nyo Ze So โ€” Their appearances (form? shape? size? ) as such,
Nyo Ze Sho โ€” Thier natures (essence) as such,
Nyo Ze Tai โ€” Their embodiments (present incarnation) as such,
Nyo Ze Riki โ€” Their powers (potentiality also possibilities) as such,
Nyo Ze Sa โ€” Their activities (function or role) as such,
Nyo Ze In โ€” Their primary causes (obvious cause) as such,
Nyo Ze En โ€” Their environmental causes (process) as such,
Nyo Ze Ka โ€” Their effects (latent or hidden effect) as such,
Nyo Ze Ho โ€” Their requital (final outcome or return) as such,
Nyo Ze Hon Ma' Ku Kyo To โ€” And the combination of these [factors] as such (over and over again)
