YOU Lost the Streaming Wars
In 2019 Disney+ and AppleTV+ launched to compete with Netflix, PrimeVideo and Hulu in what would be known as the "Streaming Wars". The following years we'd get HBO Max, Paramount+ and Peacock joining them, but years later and it's now looking clear who lost this war... us the consumers.
The constant price increase, the splitting of catalogues, the cancellations of shows and even new password sharing restrictions are just some of the drawbacks we've experienced from this competition. But there's much more to it than that as streaming services shift their focus from market share to profits in this stagnant market that once looked lucrative.
