Stephen A. Smith goes off on the WNBA and its media coverage after a near-disaster scheduling conflict during the WNBA Finals. While the Atlanta Dream ultimately secured the 17,000-seat State Farm Arena for Games 3 and 4 against the Golden State Valkyries, Stephen A. calls the lack of preparation "pathetic," "embarrassing," and "bush league". He questions how a professional sports league expanding in popularity could risk playing its championship games in a 3,500-seat facility.
Beyond the arena fiasco, Stephen A. takes aim at the pundits and media covering the WNBA, accusing them of lacking the "chutzpah" to fairly criticize the league and its players. He defends his own track record of over 900 hours of live broadcasting a year, making it clear that he isn't afraid of the "lion's den" and will always speak his mind regardless of the backlash.
